So you’re looking for a great restaurant to enjoy a fine dining meal, but finding the right fine dining spot in Cape Town can take a bit of work. So, we have done the legwork for you and put together a list of ten restaurants that deserve a place on your radar.

We looked at what makes each one stand out, from the food and atmosphere to the location and overall experience. Some are perfect for a special occasion, while others are simply great options when you feel like treating yourself. Here is our guide to the top 10 fine dining restaurants in Cape Town.

Utopia – Cape Town

Utopia Cape Town is one of those restaurants where the setting is just as memorable as the food. Located on the 15th floor of the Capital Mirage in De Waterkant, it offers incredible views across the city, Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and the harbour. The menu takes inspiration from Mediterranean flavours, with seafood, quality meat dishes, and beautifully presented plates.

I also had the chance to attend Utopia’s Summer Menu launch in 2025, which gave me a chance to experience some of the restaurant’s newer dishes and see what the kitchen was bringing to the table. In short, I was blown away by the flavours, the detail in each dish, and the story behind the dishes themselves. Utopia is a must-try if you’re in Cape Town and are looking for one of the best fine dining restaurants with a view.
